See the black velvet.

I'm going for the professional picture look.

But, my kids are messing it up for me! haha

See, I'm playing around with this black velvet background. I've got it into my head that I can take my own "professional" pictures.

Yeah, right!

I know that I shouldn't have . . .

But, I just purchased this.

However, according to my husband, I shouldn't be purchasing anything at this time.

I'm hoping that if I promise to give up some sweet lovin' that he won't be too mad.

He really likes this movie and the music with it. Actually, he really loves the ass-kicking that the two give each other. We're kind of violent like that. Sick, right?

So, combine the sweet lovin' and this soundtrack and we should be alright! heehee

And, a Merry Christmas to all!

Soaking up the solitude.

Being alone feels like social exile for a people-loving type like you, but it may be exactly what you need, especially if there are some weighty matters on your mind that need unburdening. Soak up the solitude.

Lord, it's a miracle!

Somehow and for some reason, Elijah had gotten a hold of one of these Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. It was still in its packaging. It was a single pack.
I saw that he had been drawing on the packaging.
I said to him, "You can't have that. Give it to Mommy."
He was pretty cool with that, surprisingly. He even said, "Miisstteerr Cleeaaan."
I asked Daddy. "Did you tell him that this was Mr. Clean?"
Daddy says, "No. He read it."
I say, "He can't read."
So, Daddy picks up the baby powder and asks Elijah, "what does this say?"
Elijah says, "Powder."
I'm like, he knows it's powder.
This continues on . . . Daddy says that maybe he can read.
I say, "He can't read."
Whatever. I blame tv. I guess those Mr. Clean commercials could be the culprit. Who knows?
I'm just waiting for the miracle of him using the toilet at this point.

My attitude reeks . . .

I don't like my job at all. I'm trying to repair this attitude of mine. I make people laugh with my jokes about my dislike for work. I just can't wait till the holiday is over then I can move on from here.

Then, running into this . . .

Be humble and diligent and you'll stay well ahead of the game. Yes, you got here because you worked hard and had the talent to get ahead, but you were also very lucky in a myriad of ways. Count your blessings.

This stops me a bit. I know that I am blessed to be where I am. But, a job is a job. And, I've always believed that I could always move on to another one.

I just can't wait till the next one comes along . . . and, I will try to have a better attitude in the meantime.

One or two needier types may willfully ignore your 'Do Not Disturb' sign and keep pestering you for some attention. Tell them firmly that now is not the time for their shenanigans. You have business to take care of.

Could the stars be referring to two small children that I know?

Yeah--I think so too.

A Love Song

Gotta Have You
The Weepies

Gray, quiet and tired and mean
Picking at a worried seam
I try to make you mad at me over the phone.
Red eyes and fire and signs
I’m taken by a nursery rhyme
I want to make a ray of sunshine and never leave home

No amount of coffee, no amount of crying
No amount of whiskey, no amount of wine
No no no no no, nothing else will do
I've gotta have you, I've gotta have you.

The road gets cold, there’s no spring in the middle this year
I’m the new chicken clucking open hearts and ears
Oh, such a prima donna, sorry for myself
But green, it is also summer
And I won’t be warm till I’m lying in your arms

I see it all through a telescope: guitar, suitcase, and a warm coat
Lying in the back of the blue boat, humming a tune...

Really beautiful. It sounds a little stalker-like and a little depressive.

But, sometimes, I need to need something and/or someone this bad.

What do you need that bad?

Best Horoscope Ever!

Routine tasks may not be where it's at, since your practical abilities seem to be taking a little nap. Put off day-to-day tasks until a little later. In the meantime, indulge in wild and whimsical conversations.

Ok. I will look into indulging into some wild and whimsical conversations.

But, overall, doesn't it just say that I should be taking a nap?

That's totally what I'm reading into it.

Trying to get a thought out so bear with me . . .

Talking with Kristen tonight, I was telling her how her sister, Jen, is my Oprah.

Jen blogs about how she is listening to Sarah McLachlan's new Christmas cd, Wintersong.

And, since I have $20 Amazon money, I purchase the cd quickly.

Now, I'm no writer, artist, or a hugely creative person.

But, I guess I am a bit of a people person.

I picture Jen listening to this cd doing some great piece of art that she shares with others.

Quickly, I dismiss myself because I will be listening to this cd while I count out the registers at work. Nothing too special or great, in my book.

But, this is what I will do . . . I share with all those within earshot of my voice about great this cd. How it is so worshipful. How it is about Jesus, the real reason for the season.

My voice will be heard.

Now, there are a few that want to listen to it for themselves.

Now, maybe, I've got others thinking of the real reason of the season.

That's my contribution . . . my thing . . . what I do.
